Several commonly used Field Installable Connectors are introduced in detail
2021-06-18 13:20
There are many kinds of Field Installable Connectors on the market, and they are not interoperable with each other. People who are not in touch with optical fiber often may mistakenly think that the Field Installable Connectors of GBIC and SFP modules are the same, but they are not. The SFP module is connected to the LCField Installable Connector, and the GBIC is connected to the SCField Installable Connector. The following is a detailed introduction of several commonly used Field Installable Connectors, I hope it will be helpful to you.
Several commonly used Field Installable Connectors in network engineering:
① FC Type Field Installable Connector: The external reinforcement method is a metal sleeve, and the fastening method is a turnbuckle. Generally used on the ODF side (most used on the distribution frame)
② SC-type Field Installable Connector: the connector for connecting GBIC optical module, its shell is rectangular, and the fastening method is a plug-in latch type without rotation. (Most used on router switches)
③ ST-type Field Installable Connector: commonly used in optical fiber distribution frames, the shell is round, and the fastening method is turnbuckles. (For 10Base-F connection, the connector is usually ST type. Commonly used in optical fiber distribution frame)
④ LC-type Field Installable Connector: The connector for connecting SFP modules, which is made of a modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism that is easy to operate. (Router commonly used)
⑤ MT-RJField Installable Connector: a square Field Installable Connector with integrated transceiver, one dual-fiber integrated transceiver.
